Gulf View Beach
WARNING: The water gets very deep, very quickly on the left end of this beach. You can actually dive in from the shore. Also, there is a strong east-west current some days that can over power weaker swimmers. If you have inexperienced swimmers or children, it is recommended that you stay to the right (east) on this beach. The waters are shallower and safer on the eastern end.
Directions: Turn left onto the St Peter’s Harbour Road from Cairns Road and take your first left onto Creek Road. Travel approximately half a mile and turn left onto Gulf View Road. Gulf View is a two lane clay road. After about a half mile, you will come to a large open field on your right (facing the beach). Park here and walk towards the bushes to find a small windy path leading you to the shore.
- Warmer water makes this beach popular with children.
- Very lightly populated – you may find yourself alone on this beach with the exception of the odd walker/jogger.
- Something for everyone – deep water to the west, shallow water to the east.
- Hermit crabs can be found in the shallow warmer water
- A large pond filled with minnows is a 5 minute walk down the beach to the west
- Ample parking area
- Easy access with car
- Approx 3 minute drive
